Analysis on Effects of Joints on Physical and Mechanical Properties of the Rock

There are plenty of joints and crannies in the rock, the stress strain curve of joints from open to close is non linear. The friction between the joints results in hysteresis and attenuation of stress wave be tween loading and unloading and the dilation is a significant sign for formation of new joints. It is proved that the joints have vital effects on physical and mechanical properties of the rock, so the rock has special plastic yield that is not displacement but relative translation.
