Unified Formula for the Slice Methods and Its Analysis

LIN Li et al.
The various methods from un strict equilibrium slice method and strict equilibrium slice method are synthesized and a unified formula has been obtained. The united formula consists of two algebraic equations. There is one equation needed for the un strict slice method and two for the strict slice method, so it is easy to program and give simple and accurate calculation. The results show by the analysis and comparison, that the Swedish method and un equilibrium thrust method give low limit value with the least stability safety factor. The stability safety factor by the concise Bishop method is more by 6 7 percent than that by the Swedish method and the stability safety factor of Spence method is more by 2 3 percent than that of the concise Bishop method.
