Analysis and Study of Longitudinal Earthquake Resistance of Shield Tunnel

LIU Xue shan  
In this paper, the shield tunnel is simplified as one dimensional rod system and the surrounding soil is taken as visco elastic material, thus, the longitudinal earthquake resistance is simplified as vibration of elastic rod system in visco elastic ground. The longitudinal earthquake resistance of shield tunnel is analyzed using FEM for vibration of rod system in visco elastic ground. Meanwhile, considering the characteristics of joint of shield tunnel, the longitudinal joint of element is simulated by joint element; a formula has been derived to express the rigidity of longitudinal joint of shield tunnel. Finally, the impact of joint rigidity and ground parameters in case of earthquake on the stress and deformation of the tunnel is analyzed and studied.
