Numerical Simulation of Rock Deformation and Rock-burst of Tongyu Tunnel

WANG Qing hai et al  
In this paper, using numerical simulation, a study on stress distribution of rock in Chongqing Tongyu Tunnel located deeply under ground was carried out and the areas in tunnel where large deformation or rockburst maybe happen were predicted. The results indicate that when the wall rock in tunnel is a hard rock, the rockburst may occur at sides of tunnel and edge arch, when the wall rock is a soft rock, a deformation larger than II degree one possibly happen in tunnel.
