Viscoelasticity Back Analysis for Layered Ground and Hybrid Genetic Algorithm

To simulate the time effect of soil during excavation of foundation pit, the Voigt model on visco elasticity was used; besides, the viscoelastic displacement back analysis was employed during construction process. Due to that the genetic algorithm is characterized by earlier mature and slow convergent in the later stage of evolution, it was combined with damped least squares method. Viscoelasticity back analysis was carried out in the excavation by genetic algorithm and hybrid genetic algorithm and the applicability of two methods to viscoelastic displacement back analysis was discussed. It shows that in comparison with genetic algorithm, the hybrid genetic algorithm increases the speed of search without loss of accuracy.
