## A Simplified Calculation Method for Settlement of Pile Base Caused by the Creep of Soil under the Pile

The parameters of simplified Mersi Creep Model are quite simple and its three parameters can be obtained by normal tri axial rheology test. In this paper, this model is used for describing the creep of soil under the pile. The Mendlin formula of additional stress for pile is used to calculate the additional stress under the surface of the pile end. A simple and practical method is set up for calculation of settlement of the pile base after its construction. A long term site monitoring was carried out on the settlement of pile base after construction. A comparison of calculation results with those of monitoring shows that the former can be used for primary design.
