2D Analysis of Active Isolation Using Open Trench in Layered Medium

The BEM, for which the Green function is as fundamental solution of stratified half space obtained by Thin layered Method, is used in this paper for effective analyzing the dynamic problems in stratified foundation. It is an efficient tool for dynamic soil structure interaction problems. In this paper, the effects of active isolation of 2D open trench in stratified foundation are analyzed. A conclusion is given that the design criteria of amplitude reduction factor and amplitude magnitude should be considered synthetically, while assessing the effects of vibration isolation using open trench in 2D visco elastic layered field. The conclusion will be beneficial to application of active isolation with open trench in practice.
