Prediction of Ground Deformation During Tunnel Excavation by ANN

This paper discusses the mechanism of ground surface settlement in the shield tunnel construction of the city metro subway.Combining the engineering practice of certain metro-subway,the prediction of the ground surface settlement nearby construction site has been made by using Artificial Neural Network(ANN) technology,which has advantages in dealing with the nonlinear problem.By contrast of the predicted values with its measured data in locale,this article proves the feasibility and suitability of the above mentioned soft science method used in this field.
