Spall Response Analysis of Underground Structures Under Blast Loads

Research on the local response of spall for underground structures under blast loads was based on assumption of semi-infinite thickness of concrete in the past.Formula based on propagation theorem for stress waves within layered structures is presented to analyze the total stress histories for underground structures,according to the actual thickness of concrete structure.Stress history curves within underground structures are obtained for soft and hard rock respectively by a numerical example.The influence of rock properties on the spall for underground structures is also analyzed.The analysis method and the results are useful as reference for similar problems.
