Analysis on Mechanism of Roadbed and Subgrade Space Instability Caused by Underground Cavity and River in Karst Area

With the "development of the western regions" implementation and the development of urban construction in goaf-karst cavity areas,the highways will come from or pass through these areas,there will be many problems of instable subgrade caused by goaf-karst cavity collapse.This paper studied the subgrade stability of two projects in goaf-karst cavity areas.The analysis of subgrade stability caused by karst cavity was relied on a collapse accident happened in Changjin expressway.The suitable parameters of rock and soil are obtained through the numerical simulation of collapsed subgrade,the treatment project for the subgrade near collapse is evaluated by using the parameter obtained in frontal calculation,and a better project is chosen through the result of numerical simulation,which is important for construction of a highway in goaf-karst cavity area.
