Settlement Prediction of Highway Soft Foundation Using Support Support Vector Machine

Settlement prediction of highway soft foundation is important for construction and maintenance of highway.There are a lot of factors that influence the settlement,and the relationship between them is complex and nonlinear.So,it is difficult to express the relationship by conventional methods such as mechanical and mathematical one.In this paper,a new approach was proposed based on the support vector machine and field measuring information to predict the settlement of highway soft foundation.The results show that this method is feasible, scientific,and promising.
