Study on the Stability of Ventilation Shaft Under the Earthquake for a River-Across Tunnel

Due to the fact that the main seismic disasters of the structures in the river are caused by sand liquefaction and crack in the surface of the concrete structure.The authors analyzed the sand liquefaction of the foundation and the stability of the ventilation shaft for certain tunnel across the river.On the basis of the data about the foundation and the shaft,the authors adopted the quasi-static method and numerical simulation to calculate and analyze the sand liquefaction and the stability of the shaft under earthquake intensity of 7.The result indicates that the ventilation shaft is stable under such earthquake.
