Numerical Simulation Analysis of Safe Cover Thickness of Underground Cavity

WU Wei-dong(Department of Architectural Engineering,Southwest Petroleum Institute,Chengdu 610500,China)  
With the finite element method of material description,the rock mass in underground and opencast united mining engineering was simulated and analyzed.Calculating the maximum tensions in rock mass in different top thickness and different span of cavities,the reasonable thickness between opencast bottom and underground cavity was ascertained according to the critical tension strength of rock mass,and a regressive equation was obtained between the safe thickness of mining roof and cave span.
