Influence of Construction Method of the Twin Tunnel on Slope Stability

Taking Madihe twin tunnel as an example,a 3D nonlinear FEM simulation on the dynamic excavating procedure is processed.An analysis on safety factor of slope by two different construction methods,through strength reduction method is presented.The results show that the excavation has great effect on the safety factor.During the excavation,the safety factor is reduced gradually and finally it tends to be stable.For unsymmetrical loaded twin tunnel,it is beneficial to slope and tunnel by excavating the hole near the outside of slope firstly.The reason of slope unstability is studied.It suggests to intensify observation and take certain reinforcing measures.The results have important guiding significance for tunnel construction.
