Improved Genetic Algorithm in Back Analysis for Seepage Parameter

Seepage coefficient for arch dam are analyzed as the back analysis parameters from the real water head data.Considering the limitation of the simple genetic algorithm such as high computational cost,difficult determination of the optimization probability of crossover and mutation and premature convergent,the adaptive genetic algorithm is proposed to overcome the limitation of simple genetic algorithm.At the same time,the adaptive genetic algorithm is used to analyze the parameter of the simple two dimension practical example.The result shows that the method is effective in improving the computational convergence and overcoming the premature of simple genetic algorithm in some degree.So the adaptive genetic algorithm is efficient and feasible in back analysis for seepage coefficient of arch dam.
