Study on Physico-Mechanical Property of Glauberite Salt Rock

Through a series of tests,the berite fundamental mechanical property and solubility of difficult soluble salt are studied,at the same time,after its complete dissolution and its porosity is studied and its physical and mechanical properties are ascertained.Results show that its compressive strength is 18.86MPa,tensile strength is 2.59MPa,it is found that the glauberite salt rock is a kind of soft rock,and it's failure mode is a typical column cleave,the salt rock is a friable material in the nature.In the long time creep tests,by regressive analyses,the creep curve of glauberite at different stress level is obtained:at 50% of its compressive strength,the creep curve is ε(t)=0.009t0.3265,at 80%of compressive strength,the creep curve is ε(t)=0.0098ln(t)-0.0014.It is clear from the creep curves of the rock mass,that the creep rate at high stress level is higher than that at the lower stress level.The glauberite belongs to the difficult soluble salt,its dissolution rate is very low,the characteristic curve of solution is νt=-0.0005Ln(t)+0.0041,the equation of dissolution rate is ν=-0.0002Ln(t)+0.0015.Through the theoretic analyses the porosity of 35.87% is obtained when the glauberite is dissolved completely. The study on dissolution rate and porosity of complete dissolution is important to investigae the solution mining mechanism of the difficult soluble glauberite.
