Analytical Study on Surrounding Rock Pressure of Tunnels by Back-Analysis on Periphery Displacements

Structural mechanics method is used to analyze the relations of the vertical crown displacement,rock mass pressure and its distribution range in the tunnel with circular shape under assuming that the tunnel remains with circular shape after the surrounding rocks are deformed and ignoring the arch top displacements.An analytical formu- la about the vertical crown displacement,rock mass pressure and its distribution range are obtained.According to the monitored data of vertical crown displacement,the size and distribution range of the rock mass pressure could be esti- mated by the formula.Some useful references for the supporting parameters of the tunnel are provided.
