A Comparative Study on the Interface Model between Soil and Structure

This paper summarizes the characteristics of four models of interaction between soil and structure. The key construction steps of deep excavation of one metro station are simulated by FEM.According to measured data of construction in the foundation pit of the metro station on metro Line 8 in Shanghai,the calculational results of the horizontal displacement of diaphragm walls prove that calculational data by thin - layer element model and friction contact model are consistent well with the measured data,and the data by direct contact model and spring model are not.The comparative study results can serve as references for the numerical calculation of the interaction between soil and structure.
