Study on Collapse Mechanism in the Mayakou Tunnel

Mayakou tunnel in the YU - Yi Freeway is one of the key and difficult projects with poor geological condition in Chongqing China.There is collapse occurred in the construction of section YK34 + 645.5 - YK34 + 670.5.This paper from specific circumstances of the collapse,based on the measured data,analyzes the characteristics of the deformation in the surrounding rock and the forces of the initial support.The main cause of this collapse is found by numerical simulation in FLAC.Through the above analysis,we have found the key factors which affect the security of the tunnel in this surrounding rock,which can provide reference for the similar projects.
