Influence of Stress Path on the Pore Pressure of Saturated Loess

Using the SLB-1 triaxial and permeability apparatus with stress and strain control,the triaxial tests with stress and strain control have been carried on the intact loess of Shaanxi Yangling.The tests were carried out with different stress paths under consolidated undrained condition,which include conventional triaxial compression,reduced triaxial compression and constant p.The influence of different stress paths on pore pressure of saturated loess is studied.The experiment results indicated that under different stress path,with the increase of the axial strain,the pore pressure of saturated loess is also increasing.When the axial strain is small,with the initial consolidation pressure increase,the pore pressure is basically unchanged.After the axial strain is reached 5%,with the initial consolidation pressure increasing,there will be greater principal stress difference and the loess's pore pressure will be greater as well.
