Analysis on Excavation and Support Technique of the Fault and Crushing Zone in Cimushan Tunnel

The fault and crushing zone is very difficult for construction and is a catastropic section of the three-lane tunnel with large cross section during the course of excavation and supporting.The design of support parameter in the fault and crushing zone is very important because of complex geological formation and loading conditions under construction.In this paper,the geological conditions and design of support parameter are introduced and analyzed according to the geological features of one section based on the example of Cimushan tunnel No.1.At the same time,information construcions of tunnel are adopted to be fed back and served for design and construction.The success of Cimushan tunnel No.1 through the surrounding rock section with fault can serve as reference to the design and construction of tunnel in similar fault and crushing zone.
