AN APPLICATION OF PBLIN TEACHING MEDICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Objective\ To discuss the applying value of P BL in the teaching of medical psychology to improve the teaching quality of it.\ Methods\ A research was done on four classes composed of 114 stud ents enrolled to Qingdao University Medical College in 1999, among them, Classes 9901 and 9902 were tested classes, while Classes 9903 and 9904 were served as c ontrol ones. Combination of instruction and PBL was adopted to the tested classe s, whereas traditional teaching method was adopted to the control classes. \ Results\ There was no significant difference between the two group s in terms of elementary knowledge ( t=1.61, P 0.05); but they differed g reatly in case analysis and general scores ( t=6.86,3.75, P 0.001). \ Conclusion \ PBL is obviously superior to the traditional method i n the promotion of the activity, the ability to apply their knowledge and the ac tive participation of students in learning.
