AN ANALYSIS OF MENTAL HEALTH OF VOCATIONAL COLLEGE STUDENTS IN QINGDAO

Objective To survey and analyze the mental health status of vocational college students in Qingdao.Methods By using SCL-90 psychological questionnaire,600 students from 10 vocational colleges in Qingdao were surveyed and appraised.Results Of the students surveyed,19.11% of them got at least one SCL-90 factor for ≥3 marks.The difference of mental health level between different sex and different grade was not significant.The students from rural area got higher marks than those from city,the difference being significant(t=2.19-8.73,P0.05).The mental health level of the college students in Qingdao was lower than the national norm(t=9.63-19.06,P0.05),and also lower than that of college students in other areas of our country(t=3.17-6.42,P0.05).The mental health problems in students of grade-2,female,and those from countryside were relatively prominent.Conclusion Mental health education in vocational college students should be strengthened.
