Progress in the Studies of Climatic Features in Different Areas of China during the MIS-3

Based on the study of some examples related to the oxygen isotope and magnetic susceptibility,the paleoclimatic features in different areas of China during the MIS-3 are discussed,and the causes of the climatic variations are sought.In general,during the MIS-3,the Tibetan Plateau was warmer and more humid than other areas in China,the paleoclimate was mainly warm and humid in the eastern monsoon areas but cool and humid in the western tropic areas,and was warm and humid in Northwest China.However,it had a little difference among sub-areas.The features of the MIS-3 in China were controlled by earth orbital parameters and monsoon circulation.The periodicity of climatic fluctuation during this period was roughly corresponding to the periodical change of astronomical precession.The strong heat energy would cause the ice-sheets shrinking in the high latitudes and the sea levels rising.The enhanced hot low pressure induced summer monsoon stronger from ocean and precipitation increasing.This was the major reason of increase in precipitation and temperature.At the same time,the response of Heinrich events and D-O cycle also appeared in China.
