Study of the Bacterial Diversity Recovered from Glacial Snow of the Northern Tibetan Plateau

Abundance and species diversity of culturable bacteria were investigated respectively by the culture method and the analysis of 16SrDNA genes,with snow samples from Xiao-Dongkemadi Glacier,Yuzhufeng Glacier and Meikuang Glacier in the Tibetan Plateau.The results show that the CFU value of these three glaciers are 18.54 CFU·mL-1,35.52 CFU ·mL-1 and 58.07 CFU ·mL-1,respectively.The culturable bacterial species diversity in three glaciers is very abundant.The 16S rDNA genes of culturable bacteria belong to the following groups: Bacteroidetes,Actinobacteria,Firmicutes and α,β,γ-Proteobacteria.Comparing the bacteria revealed from snow and ice in the Tibetan Plateau,Antarctica and Arctic that have been reported reveal that Zoogloea,Agrococcus and Pedobacter are the unique species in the Yuzhufeng Glacier and Meikuang Glacier.
