The results of soil organic matter content and δ 13 C from four soil profiles in Jiujiang Prefecture, Jiangxi Province indicate that the ecological shift in last glacial cycle was drived by the monsoonal effect and the change of CO 2 concentration. The northern Altantic Heinrich events had also impacted dramatically on the climate in the eastern China, and their distribution controls directly the shift of C 3 and C 4 plant and type of sediments. The CO 2 concentration and other greenhouse gas may be one of the important factors forcing to Heinrich events.
