Effects of additives on sintering behavior and microstructure of Al_2O_3

Adding a little additive to Al 2O 3 can promote the sintering, improve the microstructure, and enhance the properties of Al 2O 3 polycrystals. The additives can be divided into two classes according to their functional mechanisms: one is to form liquid phase in matrix, the other is to form solid solution with Al 2O 3.

Novolac epoxy shows distinct catalytic effect on the curing of BADCy. It is found that appropriately prepolymerized cyanate-epoxy blend can make the blend into adhesive state at room temperature. Thus, the polymerized prepreg is made.Dibutyl tin dilaurate(DBTDL) has high catalic activity in BADCy and blend curing reaction too.
