Finite element analysis of kinetic energy armour-piercing process

DUAN Xiao-ming, ZHOU Yu, JIA De-chang (Materials Institute, Harbin University of Technology, Harbin 150001, China)  
The process of 105 kinetic energy penetrator simulacrums piercing semi-infinite steel armour plates was simulated by LS-DYNA program. The obtained penetrating depth results accord with those obtained from testings, which show the program can be used to compute three-dimension high-speed impact problems.
