Study on multilayer radar wave absorbing coatings

WANG Zhi-hui,LUO Wu,XIA Zhi-dong,HU Chuan-xin(School of Materials Science and Engineering,Beijing University of Technology,Beijing 100022,China)  
Nano Co composite Ni-Co ferrite radar wave absorber was used to prepare single layer coating,and two layers made by carbonyl + nano Co composite Ni-Co ferrite were also prepared.The three layers composed of a electroless plating nickel layer on the base and the two layers mentioned above were made in the experiments.The total thickness of the three kinds coatings was 1 mm respectively.The reflectivity test results showed that double layer radar wave absorbing coating had better absorbing pro-perty at low frequency than single layer.The three layers coating had better absorbing property than double layers,the working band that reflectivity was below-5dB could reach 4.5~18 GHz,increases 4.5 GHz compared with the double layer.The effect of nickel layer was evident.
