Study on hot compression deformation simulation of AZ61B magnesium alloy

Hot compression deformation simulation of AZ61B magnesium alloy was investigated on Gleeble-1500D hot simulation at different deformation temperatures(623 and 673K) and various strain rates(0.01,0.1 and 1 s-1) under the deformation degree of 50%.The microstructure of the AZ61B magnesium alloy after deformation was also studied.The relationships between flow stress and deformation temperature were analyzed,and the deformation activation energy and stress exponent were calculated.The results show that the peak flow stress becomes larger with the strain rate increasing at the same temperature,and gets smaller with the deformation temperature increasing at the same strain rate.AZ61B magnesium alloy has dynamic recrystallized,and a great deal of equiaxed crystal has been found,at the same time,the mechanism of dynamic softening of AZ61B magnesium alloy in hot testing deformation has been attributed to be the dynamic recrystallization.
