Simulation on automobile engine bracket made of tube filled with foam aluminum

In order to explore a new way for improving the properties in light weight,safety,comfort and environment of vehicle,a model of special vehicle engine bracket was taken as the research object. The engine bracket made of tube filled with foam aluminum was designed based on the demand of light weight,the static and dynamic characteristics of the two kinds of bracket were analyzed using the finite element software ANSYS so as to get the strain and stress distribution diagram of the components,first six modes vibration diagrams,natural frequencies and harmonic response amplitude maps. Through comparison of the results,it is concluded that the bracket filled with foam aluminum has superior mechanical properties and light weight,which can meet the requirements in light weight,safety,comfort and environment.
