Corrosion behavior of X100 pipeline steel welded joint in acidic environment

The microstructure of welded joints of X100 steel was observed by optical microscope,and the corrosion behavior of X100 steel in three kinds of acidic environment was studied by polarization curve,SEM and EDS.The results show that the microstructure of the weld zone is AF,GB,a small amount of PF and a very small number of M-A islands.The microstructure of the heat affected zone is GB,PF and black granular carbides.In three acidic environment,the corrosion rate of welds is lower than that of the base metal,the maximum corrosion rate of welds is in 5%H_2SO_4,the second is in 5%(HCl+H_2SO_4),in the minimum corrosion rate is in the 5%HCl.Pitting corrosion is the main corrosion mechanism in Cl~-acidic environment,the corrosion products are mainly Fe chlorides and Fe oxids.Serious uniform corrosion occurs in SO_4~(2-)acidic environment,and the corrosion products are oxides of Fe and Cr.
