Microcavity Organic Light Emitting Diode

Microcavity structure consisting of a distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) is designed. Using 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminium (Alq 3) as an electron transporting layer and emissive layer,and triphenyl diamine (TPD) as the hole transporting layer, organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs) and microcavity organic light emitting diodes(MOLEDs) are fabricated. It is found that FHWM of MOLEDs is much narrower than that of OLEDs while the light intensty of MOLED is enhanced. When the cavity length is modified, the peak spectrum of MOLED will move. The results of the experiment agree quite well with the theoretic calculation.
