Study on Organic Thin Film Electroluminescent Matrix Display

A mono-chromatic organic light emitting diode matrix display is reported,based on an available long life green OLED cell with 96×60 pixels, an equivalent pixel size of 0.4 mm×0.4 mm and an effective driving circuit. The gap of each dot is 0.1 mm. A good green color image is obtained with neither non-uniformity caused by the parasitic capacitance nor cross talk between pixels. The peak luminance at the duty cycle of 1/64 is 100 cd/m 2, with power consumption is 0.6 W. The dark room contrast of 1:100 is achieved without using a polarization filter.
