Recent Advance in Research on Ultraviolet Stimulated Emission for ZnO Films

LU Jian guo, YE Zhi zhen, WANG Lei (State Key Laboratory of Silicon Materials, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, CHN)  
ZnO thin films, as novel materials for Ⅱ Ⅵ semiconductors, have excellent microstructural, optical and electronic properties. Ultraviolet stimulated emission is an outstanding merit of ZnO thin films. ZnO thin films have great potential applications in the fields of ultraviolet detectors, LEDs and LDs thanks to the realization of the optically pumped ultraviolet stimulated emission and self assembled reciprocal stripe. Recent advances in research on ZnO films for ultraviolet lasers are introduced in detail.
