Key Technologies for APON Broad Band Access Systems

Based on the basic model of APON broad band access systems, the format of transmitting frame is discussed. The mechanism of the composition of cells in the transmitting frame structure is analyzed in terms of the MAC protocol. Several technologies such as ranging of APON systems in the tier of physical transmission, burst mode synchronization, transmitting and receiving of burst signals are discussed. The basic framework for the design is proposed.
