Research on FFP Edge Filter

Based on the principle of two beam interference, the reflectivity equation of FFP edge filter is developed. The influence of reflectivity from two ends of FFP cavity is discussed. The temperature sensitivity is compared with fiber Michelson and M-Z interferometer. With the application of FFP to the demodulation of fiber grating, the reflectivity equation of FFP is simplified to a linear equation approximately, which has been used to measure the strain of FBG sensor. The result shows that the maximum error is 3.8 microstrains, with the precision in full scale of 6 , which can meet the requirements of measurement for the industry.
