Fabrication of Single-mode Fiber and Graded-index Few-mode Fiber Gratings

The basic principle of the fiber Bragg grating's(FBG) fabrication was introduced.Bragg gratings in single-mode fiber(SMFBG) and in graded-index few-mode fiber(FMFBG) have been fabricated by the phase-mask method.The SMFBG showed an almost ideal result in its transmission spectrum as the transmission lobe was more than-49dB at about 1080nm.And the FMFBG showed about 8 reflection spectrum lobes,the lobes was about 7~8dB.Theoretical study of the FMFBG's reflection spectrum was made,and actually,the theoretical result is agreeable to the experiment one well.
