Influence of High-order Dispersion on Gauss Optical Pulse in Optical Fiber

The analytic expression was derived by taking into account the third-order dispersion as a Gaussian pulse without chirp propagating along the single-mode fiber.The effects of third-order dispersion on Gaussian pulses propagation in optical fiber were studied by using symmetrical split-step Fourier method(SSFM) for solving the nonlinear Schrdinger equation(NLS).Numerical experiments show that the third-order dispersion generates distortion to the optical pulse shape with an unsymmetrical structure at the front or back edge.
