Effect of Absorption of Doping on the Polarization Wave of Defect Mode of Photonic Crystal

Introducing the complex refractive index and making use of the characteristic matrix method,the effect of the absorption of doping on the defect mode of TE wave and TM wave was studied.It is concluded that the extinction coefficients of doping have obvious influences on the defect mode of TE wave and TM wave.But the extinction coefficient of doping has more obvious influence on TE wave.When the extinction coefficient is certain,the defect mode of TE wave decreases with the increase of incident angle,but the defect mode of TM wave increases with the increase of incident angle.By using this characteristic,the filter of polarization wave of photonic crystal can be designed.
