Accurate Determination of External Photoluminescence Quantum Efficiency of Phosphor for White LED by Using Inner Standard Scattering Board

By using optical software,the measurement accuracy which is affected by different properties of coating material of integrating sphere is discussed.To improve the accuracy of traditional measurement methods,a novel method based on an inner standard scattering board is proposed.The experimental results obtained by homemade apparatus show that the photoluminescence quantum efficiency of different kinds of commercial phosphor for LED ranges from 0.744 to 0.92,which agrees well with the simulation result.When the absorption coefficient of the coating material of integrating sphere varies from 0.01 to 0.05,the measurement error of the system is less than 2%.
