Design of Low Voltage High Efficiency and Wide Range DC/DC Converter

A high efficiency PFM(pulse frequency modulation) step-up DC/DC converter with low power dissipation,wide output range and low-input high-output voltage was designed on the basis of 0.6 μm BiCMOS process.The chip used a constant cut-off frequency,current-mode control scheme to provide low operation voltage,high efficiency and steady voltage.It was taped out successfully by XB06 process of XFAB Company. The testing results show that the lowest voltage is 1 V,the quiescent current is only 20 μA at no load.When outputing 15 mA and 500 μA in 1.5 V and 6 V input voltage,the output voltage are 3.3 V and 35 V,and the conversion efficiency reaches 85%.
