This paper reviews recent empirical studies of the just distribution problem. We divide distributive justice into three inter-linked levels,i.e.,equality,need and equity, and analyze the relationship of them.Comparing with mainstream economics,we show that behavioral economics integrated self-serving assumptions and the just motivation more successfully.Combined with empirical researches, the return of Adam Smith' social theory would be a new theoretical direction.
