Research of Height of Water Flowing Fractured Zone of Sub-level Caving Mining of Extremely Thick Coal Seam Through Numerical Simulation

Taking the case of Funshun Laohutai Coal Mine,utilizing 3-D numerical simulation method and considering the features of sub-level caving mining of extremely thick coal seam,a comprehensive study is carried out,involving the laws of upper rock mass failure;stress distribution and stress field variation;upper rock mass deformation and movement;and the variation of the heights of water flowing fractured zone under the condition of top caving of especially thick coal seam.The results from the study are valuable and can be directly applied to mining practices.
