Progress in Paleoenvironmental Research on the Quaternary Loess in China

With the progress in technology and research,the study of the quaternary paleoenvironment is developing toward multi-proxies of paleoenvironment,high-resolution paleoclimatic study and multi-driving factors of climate change et al.This paper summarizes the primary proxies in paleoenvironmental research on chinese loess,including magnetic susceptibility of loess,grain size of loess,phytolith, spore pollen,snail fossil,carbon-oxygen isotope and 10Be as well as loess-soil.It also summarizes the current understanding about the time scale of the loess-soil,short-term climatic events during the last glacial period and the mechanism of East Asian paleomonsoonal circulation variation.
