The Definition of Eco-Environmental Water Requirements and Water Environmental Protection in the Lower Huifa River Channel

Songhua Lake is one of the important water sources in Jilin province,and Huifa River,whose water environmental conditions influence the water sustainable utilization of Songhua Lake,is the main recharge source of it.As matters stand,the soil water loss and the water pollution are all very serious beside the Huifa River coast,about 50% pollutants that have gone into Songhua Lake come from Huifa River.Takes the lower Huifa River channel as an example,calculates the basic eco-environmental water requirement,requirement for transporting sediment,water requirement of the stream's self purification,and then defined the total eco-environmental water requirements according to the relations among them.The total eco-environmental water requirements per year of the lower Huifa River channel is about 20.73×108 m3,which accounts for 84.8% of annual runoff.At present conditions,if we want to make the water environment of the lower Huifa River satisfy its functional needs,about 85% of annual stream flow should be remained for eco-environmental water requirements,but it is unable to keep it,we should strengthen the pollution preventing and controlling and the slope land managing in Huifa River Basin.
