Present Status and Environmental Assessment on Water Quality of Jiaozhou Bay

Through analyzing the 2009 monitoring data of Jiaozhou Bay,the water quality of Jiaozhou Bay is evaluated by using the single factor index method.The results show that in October 2009,Grade I and Grade II water area amounts to 60.0% of Jiaozhou Bay sea area,while worse than Grade IV holds 10.0%.The water quality of Jiaozhou Bay is common.No organic monitoring item was detected and this proves that the Jiaozhou Bay do not have organic pollutions.The range of Petroleum concentration in Jiaozhou Bay is 1.8~23 ug/L and every testing points reaches the national Grade I sea water standard.The heavy metals in Jiaozhou Bay are within the limits.
