Experimental Study on Printing and Dyeing Wastewater Treatment with Glow Discharge Plasma

Using glow discharge plasma technology to degrade printing and dyeing wastewater was studied by measuring the CODcr,BOD and the changes in pH,and a preliminary understanding of the degradation mechanism was obtained.The results show that the influence of ferrous ion(Ⅱ)has been detailed determined from printing and dyeing wastewater degradation measurements.CODcr had an increase because hydrogen peroxide was generated in glow discharge process,but BOD did not change significantly.While addition of ferrous ion(Ⅱ)could make the degradation improve greatly,the removal efficiencies of CODcr and BOD were 41.2% and 46.2% when the mass of ferrous ion(Ⅱ)was 50mg.The degradation rate has been greatly improved.
