Application of NH_3 to Reduce Gas Pollutants in Flue Gas

The clean production is the essential requirements to the sustainable development. The combustion of fossil fuel is the main emission source of fine organic and inorganic particulates (FIP), volatile organic compounds (VOC) and gas pollutants such as NOX?SO2 and CO2. The techniques to reduce these gases by ammonia are reviewed and analyzed in this paper. Also, the authors present the predications for the emission reduction of pollutant gas from the flue gas in the coal_fired plant (CFP), and conclude that the methods by ammonia injection or scrubbing are effective to control the pollutant gas emissions. The byproducts from the process are useful for agricultural usage or for gas recovery, and then the near zero emission will be achieved in the power generation process.
