Extensional Evaluation Method and Its Application in the Judgments of Rockburst

Rockburst is a common geological phenomenon in the high geo-stress area.It is also one of geological problems cared by researchers in underground engineering.This paper presents three factors: the ratio of the second maximal stress of adjacent rock mass to the uniaxial compressing intensity of rock samples, the rockburst proneness index and the integrity index of rock mass,which have great influence on rockburst.Moreover,the judgement criterion of rockburst intensity was established.Then the rockburst is evaluated comprehensively with extensional method on the basis of these works.Fianlly,this extension method was also applied to the rockburst evaluation of some other engineering cases that had been accomplished.
